Are you willing to make a scant seven quick phone calls or send seven brief e-mails today to protect your liberties and those of your neighbors? If so, you can take part in a historic effort to abolish once and for all traffic light cameras by lending your verbal or written support to a bill in Tallahassee that aims to accomplish just that. SB 672 
would effectively end the use of so-called “red light cameras” throughout the state of Florida. It is scheduled to heard in the Senate Transportation Committee next Tuesday (3/29) at 1:00PM in room 37 of the Senate Office Building.
Make no mistake about it, the cameras have nothing to do with the safety of the public. While the proponents of such totalitarian legislation would have the people believe it’s all for their own good, we know this is not the case. Our civil liberties are continually encroached upon in the name of “safety”. Well, we all know what Benjamin Franklin said about those would would give up liberty for a little security.
As always, the red-light cameras are simply a scheme to further plunder the wallets and pocketbooks of good hard-working Floridians. The camera manufacturers are a powerful and wealthy lobby, and while the fight may be hard, we must, for the good of the people, remove these entrenched interests before they further harm our people and our freedoms.
Any politician who stands in the way of the people and the Bill of Rights can and should be treated as an enemy of liberty. No freedom-loving individual should cast their ballot for said politicians ever again; they should not hold office within our state. Would it surprise anyone if said politicians were being funded by the camera conglomerates?
It is extremely important to call and e-mail the members of the Transportation Committee MONDAY and tell them to support SB672 and ban red light cameras!
