How about this, you want to sell your $500K house you purchased for $50K 20 years ago, and you have a buyer willing to pay cash. Problem is you’ll lose $75K in capital gains, and the buyer will have to pay sales tax and a bunch of other government mandated crap, and to boot the new buyer will not have the your homestead exemption and protected tax status. Solution is simple, marry the purchaser and next month in the uncontested divorce you get the cash and the buyer get’s the house and its former tax status. You save $75K, the buyer avoids sales tax, new title insurance, etc. etc. What a way to beat the system. Yep, once we eliminate the traditional moral grounds for defining a marriage it opens all kind of possibilities to avoid government taxation. Because you “love” the buyer and the buyer “loves” you there is no reason you shouldn’t be allowed to marry, once you have the cash and the buyer has the house and your love dissipates, our current no-fault uncontested divorce laws means you both get what you want and enjoy the benefits and rights that married people have.

You might want to check into John "Mark" Dougan; he isn't worthy of praise, sympathy, or being included on this site as a legitimate contributor to the fight against corrupt law enforcement.
Just a little investigation, will yield proof positive that his story of why he left PBSO is pure fabrication.
A high school drop-out, he was responsible for a judgement in the neighborhood of $500,000 against PBSO for pepper spraying and arresting a fellow off-duty officer, Howard Howell, (in 2006) unnecessarily at a party while investigating a noise complaint (specifically, a jury found that he violated Howell's civil rights after a 4-day trial in 2010 because he had no right to spray or arrest him).
He left PBSO in December 2008, after 11 IA investigations (he was a road deputy for only 3 years) and a suspension. He was hired by the diminutive Windham, Maine PD in January 2009. Nine months later, he was FIRED for SEXUALLY HARASSING a female officer, Danielle Cyr, and two female dispatchers. One of the dispatchers was so distraught she QUIT. He was BARRED from the town's Home Depot after a female employee complained about a conversation that made her feel "uncomfortable". His Windham PD Lt. reported that the department had received TWO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT HIS BEHAVIOR TOWARD WOMEN.
Sympathy should be extended to his WIFE and DAUGHTER who have had to, and continue to, endure his behavior.

HB87 and it partner bill SB1666 are bills we are actively fighting against. We featured this piece of legislation on last week's radio show. (3/22/13) http://1787network.com/podcasts

What this bill does is take away a homeowners ability to work with the bank to stay in their home. If this bill passes, a homeowner will have to show a legal defense to stay in their home. Working with the bank on a short sale or loan modification is not considered a legal defense and those homes could be foreclosed on within a few months. A short sale or loan modification can take up to a year to work out with a bank and the legal proceedings will have already happened by then. In essence any person who falls behind but is trying to stay in their own will not have that opportunity any longer.

This will also be bad for the housing market as more homes will now flood the market immediately instead of gradually over a few years. All home prices will drop dramatically because of the inventory that will flood the market and every property in Florida will not be worth even less than it is now.

It is a horrible piece of legislation not only for homeowners trying to stay in their home but all Floridians.

This was a resolution to affirm and declare overt support for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. How much discussion with staff does Ms. Muliari require to feel comfortable voting for such a resolution? As I recall, the commissioner said she was insulted by the introduction of the resolution. She's insulted to affirm support for the Constitution? When she took her oath of office, did she find that similarly insulting?

Poor Commissioner Starkey was confused by the resolution. Confused? I've read the resolution. I'm confused as to what could have confused her about it.

The county commissioners who voted against this resolution make it easy to decide I will be voting against when they are up for reelection.
