My Little Rant About Marco Rubio

I started off Liberty Underground this week with a little rant about the junior Senator from Florida Marco Rubio. Most of you know that I was his competition in the US Senate race in 2010. I had a fundamental disagreement with him on the proper role of Government and the fact he was a career politician. I believed that he did not truly understand the problems we face as a nation and I wanted to make sure that the people of Florida had a Senator that not only understood the grassroots but was not part of the establishment.

We see him on trips overseas to let us know that our troops should be nation building for the next century. We hear that Marco Rubio has not decided if he is going to join the Tea Party Caucus. These acts, in my opinion, show me that he is still playing some sort of political game and wants to spend our kids and grand-kids money for nation building in Afghanistan. WE ARE BROKE and the sooner the politicians understand this and act accordingly the sooner we can actually start to fix this country.

We must reexamine our foreign policy and get back to what the founders envisioned. I am not suggesting that we bring all the troops home tomorrow but I am suggesting that we should start the process. This will take time but we must start it ASAP. We should remember why we went to Afghanistan in the first place and it was not to build up their nation.

Our time of policing the world is going to come to an end. If we do not stop it now it will end eventually but it will put America is a much weaker position defensively.  I support national defense and this is EXACTLY why I am taking this position.

I will be hosting a special podcast on BlogTalk Radio this Monday night at 11:00 PM about our foreign policy. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/alexandersnitker
